Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Elizabeth Frye
Admiration goes out to those who choose to give it all, for a greater cause- the heroic men and valiant women serving the nation.
In response to Cee’s fun photo challenge ‘yellow and red’. These were in bloom one sunny day in Boston downtown. The contrasting shades fascinated me and I had to capture them 🙂

My favorite of the lot!
Crystal? maybe something ordinary?
As a child, milkweeds (old man’s beard or
appooppan thaadikal, as we fondly call them) were looked at with much excitement. The soft feather like beings that floats in the wind and pass you by when you least expect… and occasionally a surprise visit through an open window into your living space! They were a thing of wonder at the time. The sight of jelly fish for the first time at the Monterey bay aquarium too were along those lines.
Delicate and ethereal
Let’s take a moment to enjoy their out of this world charm!
Lake Tahoe and the snow capped mountains behind. Love the layers of blue here. Attached to this image is the fond memory of our first wedding anniversary.

Clicked at Universal studios, LA few years back. This post is in response to Cee’s Black and white photo challenge, on the topic ‘wheels’.
